“Explore the world through interactive maps illustrating geopolitical and geographic shifts over time. Users peruse the various cartographies and read up on the historical (or, as the case may be, scientific) significance of each major change through text and ”in the future” other media.”

– Edudemic, The 16 Apps And Tools Worth Trying This Year

“History and geography (duh) collide on this very popular resource, which provides access to maps past and present so users can watch how borders and projections shift over time.”

– Edudemic, 50 Must-Download Apps For Lifelong Learners

“History:Maps of the world should be used by every history teacher. This just has so much information on it, and could help elementary all the way up to college students. If I was a history teacher, I would definitely love to have this, because it saves me the time to find all the maps needed for he curriculum.”

  7. RE: History: Maps of the World

I am currently writing a series of books for educators on using the iPhone/ iPad apps with students. It will be published by Visions Technology in Education (http://www.teamvistech.com).  I am requesting permission to use screen captures of the apps (similar to those displayed in the iTunes® store) so that educators can see examples of how the app can be used by the students or by the teacher to prompt learning.

I am planning to devote a page to each app with a description of the features and uses in the classroom. I would also like to use the square identification graphic with the app’s title (found in the upper left corner of the screen in the iTunes store) next to the title of the app in my book . It is my thought that the graphics will call attention to the application and give educators a better idea of its use with students.

    Promo codes are sincerely appreciated.

If I have your permission to use captured screens of the applications you publish and the square title image, please reply to this email with your permission.

    Thank you very much,
    Patsy Lanclos

I would like to see the addition of Biblically historical maps included in this app. Do you think that is a possibility for the future?

  9. Harry Dickens says:

Permission for use of Screenshots. I am writing for the 21st Century Fluency Project. I would like to use screen shots from the app in the Book. Can I get an email address to send a permission form to?

    Thanks

The maps are a visual and historical joy. Please, remove the ad banner. It’s like viewing the Mona Lisa with same. I, for one, will be happy to pay.

  12. David Santos says:

Hey! how can I send you a map that I have?, is about Gran Colombia conformation, is in excellent resolution.

    Nice app by the way!

  13. Hi, I like your app, but have decided that it is too big for what I want to download. I can’t seem to get rid of it, though. It keeps trying to update a download. I have deleted it everywhere that I can find it on my computer and on the iPod that I use, but it keeps coming back. Do you have any suggestions?

  14. PC says:

This app is truly amazing! But, ads have been added to the world maps app. I realize that ads are necessary, but please don’t make them appear as a banner across the screen! I really don’t want to delete your app but it may come to that. Make the ad a prompt when the app is opened instead. Just a suggestion.

    Dear Seung-Bin,

I am a history teacher in the Netherlands (childrens age between 13 & 16).
I would really like to use your app in my classes, the only problem is that I don’t have an Iphone, but an Android phone (so do most of my students).

My question is: Are you currently making these apps useable on Android phones or are you planning to?

    I hope you are.

    Greetings,

    Erik

thank you for this great application, but there is some minor issues I would like to discuss about. first, can you develop a version that fits with the Nokia operating systems such as the Symbian Anna, and belle. secondly, a more wide range of numbers of these historically magnificent maps. finally, a more user-friendly interface for choosing the dates of the maps.

    GREAT JOB ! ( 👍👍👍👍👍).

Greetings ! I am 57 yrs old an Oral Turkish World Historian and I am in search of the origins of particularly the Uyghur Turks from the lost continent of ” MU ” , ” LA MURIA ” I was hoping to find in depth of worlds past and new history here.

” This would change the whole world history ! ” I guarantee !

Lost continent of ” MU ” was located in the middle of the ” PACIFIC OCEAN ”
Lost continent of ” ATLANTIS ” was located in the middle of the ” ATLANTIC OCEAN ”
there are physical evidence and findings from these both ancient lost continents.

Any historians does not have any knowledge about these lost continents they shouldn’t call themselves a historians / educators.

WHY ARE WE HIDING THESE ANCIENT PART OF OUR HISTORY ?
    ( MU = ( LA MURIA ) and ( ATLANTIS ?)

If we all look down ( 1 KILOMETER ) below the both oceans we will see the man made structures evidence there.

I have a picture of evidence taken from the lost continent of ” MU ” , ” LA MURIA ” was officially carbon dated 20.000 yrs ago. Which nations exited 20.000 years ago ? What are the names ?

Please show us the COMPLETE history maps of mankind’s origins and lets change the world history books altogether. SHALL WE ?

My father did 50 years of Turkish World History research in Turkey. Also I have the worlds first and the last religions drawn as a map in my position. Uyghur and Maya religions were split from the MU RELIGION and their after.

    ” WE THE PEOPLE. ”

and…. ” WE ALL HAVE RIGHT AND NEED TO KNOW OUR TRUE WORLD PAST HISTORY. ”

ORIGIN OF MANKIND IS NOT THE ” AFRICA. ”

UYGHUR TURKS ( WHITE RACE = BLOND AND BLUE EYED ) AND MAYA ‘
S ( BLACK RACE ) HISTORY WAS FIRST STARTED AT LOST CONTINENT OF MU.

    TO THE SCIENTIST !…

    CAN ” WHITE ! ” ITSELF CAN IT BECOME ” BLACK ? ”

    CAN ” BLACK ! ” ITSELF CAN IT BECAME A ” WHITE ? ”

    IF ; YOUR ANSWERS ” NO ”

NOW OUR WORLD POPULATING NATIONS WHERE THEY ARE FROM ?

CHINESE DID NOW APERED IN CHINE LIKE A MUSHROOM. DID IT ?

HOW ABOUT THE INDIANS IN INDIA ? WHERE WERE THEY FROM ORIGINALLY ? WHERE BRITS FROM ? GERMANS ? SPANIARDS ? WHERE DID THE EGYPTIANS CAME FROM AND SETTLED THERE NOW WE CALL IT EGYPT ?

NON OF THEM DID NOT SUDDENLY APPEARED IN THOSE LANDS RIGHT ? THAN WERE THEY COME FROM ? AND HOW THEY SETTLED THERE AND THEY GAVE NAMES TO THEIR NEW FOUNDED COUNTRIES ?

FOR GOD SAKED LETS HELP ONE ANOTHER AND FOR THE BENEFIT OF MANKIND GET TO THE BOTTEM OF THESE LOST PART OF OUR HISTORY.

” LETS BE TRUE ! TO OURSELVES AND TO THE WHOLE MANKIND. ”

TRUTH NEEDS TO BE TOLD. IT OUR DUTY AS EDUCATORS TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN’S THE TRUTH ! THE ONLY TRUTH ! NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH SO HELP US GOD.

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION.
